Joel Webbon hosts a discussion about the age-old trade-off facing any movement that promotes change in society. Namely, how inclusive that movement should be of diverse interpretations of the movement's principles. More inclusion says less to a larger audience, increases the size of the group and its political power, but risks dilution of the message to a point where it is less effective. Less inclusion preserves a more powerful message but risks failure by appealing only to a group that is too small to affect real political change. This is the classic 'say less to more' dilemma.

The group also acknowledged the importance of defining these principles honestly and openly to attract adherents that would otherwise be fearful of supporting a movement whose tactics allow for constantly moving the goal posts to a more and more right-leaning position once organizational momentum is achieved.

The good news is that right-leaning movements now have enough following in our society that a mature discussion of these issues is required. Many of our readers will remember a time not long ago when this was not true.
